Roy Beck is President of NumbersUSA, an organization with a network of over 9 million U.S. citizens. He was A former chief for the Booth Newspapers chain, and he practiced as a journalist for three decades before founding NumbersUSA in 1996. Roy graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism and was one of the the-best newspaper reporters in the 1960s and 1970s.

Roy has received the U.S. Army Commendation Medal, non-combat and numerous recognitions for his coverage of non-government humanitarian efforts, urban expansion and population issues, and business and religion.

His newspaper career included reporting in more than 30 states and many countries worldwide.

Roy Beck has authored books on various matters, including religion, ethics and public policy. His byline has appeared in many states that have been viewed by over 150 million times on social media platforms; Facebook and YouTube led to the creation of the NumbersUSA website in 1996 and the grassroots organization to support and use it.

Roy Beck is the co-author of a continuing series of NumbersUSA sprawl studies that began in the year 2000. Roy Beck has presented to many conferences, including the National Association of Secretaries of State.
