Since its establishment, KSE has acquired many companies including Foxboro Stadium, a stadium founded in 1963 and built in 1987. It was later renamed Gillette Stadium after the acquisition of the Patriots by Kraft.
Robert Kraft surrounded himself with people who possessed the qualities he needed to lead his team. He was assisted by several people such as Dan Reeves and Bill Parcells who were key figures that led New England to several Superbowl victories. Kraft has been in several lawsuits with his partners, including Robert’s wife Myra.
Robert Kraft held an annual event to honor members of the community who contributed positively to people in need. The event featured sports and entertainment figures from the city who was honored for their good deeds.
In June 2000, Robert Kraft bought out his partners of the Patriots for $175 million and acquired 100% ownership of the team. He also purchased the stadium his team played in and renamed it from Foxboro Stadium to Gillette Stadium. Kraft has been criticized for the way he handled the firing of a long-serving employee, Myra Kraft, his wife who died in 2011.
Robert Kraft was a chairman for The Lombardi Program for Executive Development at Northeastern University. The program provides education to entrepreneurs and leaders seeking to improve their management skills. In addition, he has been serving as Chairman of The Combined Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Boston since 2006.
He is the Active Advisory Leader of The Paul Wellstone and Pete Domenici Mental Health Policy Research Center of New Mexico State University, a Fellow of the Advisory Council on Presidential Physical Fitness and Sports and serves on the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America.
On May 28, 2015, Kraft threw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Game 5 of the World Series at Fenway Park.
