Randy Douthit
Judy Justice is a primetime court show hosted by a woman, covering issues rarely seen on TV, like sexual assault, domestic violence, and stalking. The show is currently in its third season, available in more than 100 countries in more than 40 different languages. Randy Douthit is the executive producer and director of Judy Justice. He also produces and directs the hit series Truth Be Told. Before launching Judy Justice, Douthit was the executive producer of Truth Be Told, a series of documentaries on subjects like child sexual abuse and homelessness. Before that, he worked as a producer and director for television shows. He started his career in television as a field producer for A&E’s Mysteries of the Unknown. He also worked for Discovery and the History Channel, among others.Randy Douthit holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications from the University of South Florida.
He has won several awards, including a Telly Award for Best New Program and two Emmys, one for Outstanding Reality Program and another for Outstanding Cinematography. According to Douthit, “The concept of a female judge was always in my head. I wanted to create a program that would show how women can be equal to men and be held to the same standards as them.” In 2014, Douthit decided to expand his production company, Truth Be Told Productions, into a full-fledged production company. He launched Judy Justice as part of its initial slate of programming.
Most of the episodes of lady justice cover stories that do not necessarily require a studio setting.The show also uses other locations, including the homes of the victims and witnesses of crimes.Randy Douthit created the series to provide a forum for women who feel “silenced.” Judy Justice is an example of how women can be equal to men regarding justice and the law. It is also an example of how women are often silenced by society and need help from men to overcome those obstacles. Douthit hopes that his female-centered TV series will inspire people around the world.
