Judd Zebersky’s $2 Million Hospital Gift Left a Lasting Impact

Of all the philanthropy associated with Judd Zebersky and Jazwares, the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital commitment stands out for its scope. A $2 million personal donation, a named hospital unit, and a custom toy for patients — the relationship between the Zebersky family and the hospital reflects the depth Zebersky pursued in his charitable work.

The “Catch the Love” Campaign

The donation Judd Zebersky and his wife Laura made to Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital was part of the hospital’s “Catch the Love” capital campaign, a $170 million project that expanded the facility from four floors to eight. Judd Zebersky contribution was among the major gifts supporting that construction effort. In recognition, the hospital named the Pediatric Emergency Department Registration Area and the Outpatient Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Unit after the family. Zebersky explained the family’s decision plainly: “Not only are they a top-notch pediatric facility, but they also provide quality medical care regardless of a family’s ability to pay.”

Beyond the Donation

The financial contribution was not the only thing the Judd Zebersky family brought to the hospital. They also worked with hospital staff to develop a Lotsy Dotsy doll a custom toy honoring the hospital’s resident clown, made specifically to comfort young patients during their stays. It was a product with no commercial use, built for a single purpose. That attention to the specific needs of children in difficult circumstances runs through Judd Zebersky’s philanthropic record, from the custom hospital doll to the Star Squishmallows donated to Make-A-Wish chapters, to the more than 100 wishes funded personally with Laura through Make-A-Wish Southern Florida. Jazwares Cares, the corporate giving program Zebersky built, continues to support hospitals, schools, and nonprofits. Zebersky himself left the CEO role in March 2026, with David Neustein taking over leadership of the company. Visit this page for more information.
