Gino Pozzo Transformed Watford Into A Premier League Contender

In June 2017, just as the summer transfer window was about to slam shut, Watford Football Club found themselves with a few problems. They had just sacked head coach Javi Gracia and appointed Marco Silva in his place. They had also lost their top scorer from the previous season, Odion pacey, who signed with newly-promoted Cardiff City for an undisclosed fee believed to be around £14.5m. On top of that, the club was about to start its first-ever season in the Premier League for its history.

However, Gino Pozzo has faith in these players led him to believe Watford could make it all the way this time around and raise itself from the third division again, where it spent several years before being promoted again at the end of last season. Things seemed bleak with no new signings in sight and not one player under contract beyond this point.

However, Gino and his Head of Recruitment technical director Giuseppe Somma were confident they could still turn things around before long if they kept working hard at it. Fortunately for them, they had a plan to take the best advantage of their limited resources. The team would be rebuilt from within while staying true to its roots. It wouldn’t be easy as things stood right now — but as Gino once said: “Life is not easy when you are ambitious.”

Gino Pozzo is a vigorous tactical businessman who has rebuilt many football clubs through excellent trading and scouting strategies. He is an apt manager who has led the Watford Football Club back to its glory. He has devised a viable plan of buying less-known players from famous clubs at a small price, then enhancing their skills and experience into the best football players in the world.

Wrapping Up

Watford FC was promoted to the Premier League after one season in the Championship. The team made history as it was the first time a non-millionaire team was promoted to the top flight. The team was keen to try something different. They envisioned creating a team from within and not just buying or selling players for big bucks. Even their training facility was funded by the club’s owner, Gino Pozzo. See this page for additional information
