Damien Granderson went to Albany Law as part of the Alumni in Residence program. A graduate of Albany Law School, he has a long history in the community and has been integral in the development of Niagara Falls. He was a member of the Grand Street Business Improvement District from its inception in 1979.

This, until his retirement from the organization. Damien Granderson has been a passionate advocate for the Community. He fought for a safe and clean Niagara Falls, fought against the evolution of Niagara Falls into an industrial park, and fought to keep Niagara Falls as an established tourist destination. He helped to establish the Niagara Convention and Visitors Bureau.

Up to now, this has become the premier destination- based organization in Western New York. He was vital in bringing thousands of jobs and millions of dollars to Niagara Falls by securing companies like Astec and the Sheraton Four Points. Damien Granderson is a former member of the Niagara Falls City Council, where he served as council president. He even ran for mayor but chose against running a formal campaign. 

Granderson is an active member of his neighborhood, serving on the Grand Street BID and on the Niagara Falls Main Street Association. During his years in office, he worked to improve education and housing for low-income families. Damien Granderson’s advocacy for the Community has not ended with his retirement from elected office. He remains a vital voice for everyone in Niagara Falls who wants to keep their Community as it was originally intended. 

He is a fierce advocate for the Environment and has been instrumental in stopping the trash incinerator, which runs dangerously unregulated and out of control. He also advocates for the families in Niagara Falls, as they struggle to make ends meet. Damien Granderson’s dedication to his Community is unparalleled. As an Alumni Advocate, he will continue to be an advocate for everyone in Niagara Falls. He will help everyone to stand up for themselves and hold their elected officials accountable for the decisions that affect them every day.
