Tom Keane, Microsoft’s Corporate Vice-President of Azure Global, has achieved impressive success in the cloud computing industry, and for a good reason. A Passion for Cloud Computing

Tom Keane has demonstrated a lifelong passion for technology and computing. After graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1994, he entered the Microsoft Cloud Services Group as a Software Design Engineer in a test in 1995. From this position, he slowly rose to leadership roles in the Cloud Services Group, culminating in his appointment as the Corporate Vice-President of Azure Global in 2017.

Under Tom Keane’s leadership, the Azure Global team has succeeded in developing cloud computing solutions that are flexible, scalable, and inexpensive. They focus on reducing the complexity of customer migration projects, streamlining development processes, and maintaining customer satisfaction. As befitting his technical skills, Keane has also been instrumental in leading a global team of cloud engineers and designers to develop customer-centric cloud solutions.

Throughout his career, cloud services engineer Tom Keane has been highly respected for his efforts and accomplishments. In 2021, he was awarded a WashingtonExec Pinnacle Award, which recognizes the achievements of outstanding individuals in the technology industry. These awards are determined through open nominations and a committee that reviews the nominees’ qualifications and backgrounds.

In addition to his Pinnacle Award, Tom Keane has been nominated for numerous other awards, such as the Hype Award for Thought Leadership and the Microsoft Global Hero Award. His work with the Azure Global team has also been recognized and lauded by over 25 global media organizations (Crunchbase).

Keane’s Service to the Community

In addition to his corporate successes, software developer and engineer  Keane is active in a number of communities. He believes that the company should have a responsibility to give back to the community and engage with different people in a meaningful, positive manner. He is a member of the Microsoft Leaders for Global Good Program and is a board member of several U.S. military charities.
