Krishen Iyer is the owner and founder of Encinitas-based consulting company Iyer & Associates, Inc., and the author of the blog The Effortless Entrepreneur. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in advertising design from San Diego State University with a minor in marketing. After graduating, Krishen Iyer remained a full-time marketing and graphic artist at SDSU. He also worked as a graphic designer for local companies, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Marriott Hotels, designing catalogs and advertisements.

 

  1. Career History

 

Krishen Iyer left New York (the city of dreams) in 2001 to work at SDSU. In 2005, he decided to start his own company, and in less than a year, he had built up a client base that contained companies such as Northwestern Mutual, Southwest Airlines, and Van Wezel Media. He currently has a small staff of marketing professionals who he works with closely on both business and personal projects. He works closely with start-up companies on web design and social media marketing.

 

  1. Awards

 

In 2012, CEO and entrepreneur Krishen won the “small business of the year award” from the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce. He was also awarded the 2008 “Entrepreneur of the Year” award from the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce. Krishen Iyer has been a finalist in three categories: “Entrepreneur of the Year,” “Local Business Person of the Year,” and in 2013, he was nominated for his achievements by the Encinitas Chamber of Commerce as acknowledged on their website.

Success is achieved through hard work and dedication, with a few positive factors thrown in. He is always looking for ways to improve and increase his success. Krishen Iyer finds that most of his success is tied to the people he surrounds himself with and trusts.
